Poster Development - 'The Story'

After completing my sketches and gaining some feedback from my peers and friends through social media, I began taking the necessary photos and further, began developing them through photoshop. I started off with simply using the text ideas to create some titles. I liked this idea as it reiterated the idea that the protagonist is 'writing his own story' within the film, hence why I titled this design concept 'The Story'. Here is what I made:

For the first picture I duplicated the background layer and after writing the title text, directors name and tagline, I used a drop shadow on the text and further, added a slight gaussian blur onto the background to make the writing stand out. I enjoyed this design as it was simple and the messy text background I found stylish and unique and authentic. It was simple and left a lot of mystery for the plot of the film. I think it was effective, but at the same time, maybe has too little information to be used as a main marketing poster.

I continued to play with the text background and rather than blur the background, I tried to find the same font as that within the text used and then give it a 0.5 gaussian blur to make it seem like part of the picture. I really liked the style of this as it made it look 'Those Who Wander' is the story of the protagonist. This can imply themes of adventure, drama, romance that may be used within the film.
